Parent Volunteer:

Parents are required to participate in their child’s Head to Heart experience each year.  Please indicate your first and second choice from the list of positions shown below.  Position descriptions are explained if you scroll down further on this page.  If no selections are made, you will be advised which position you will be assigned.

Position Descriptions

Small Group Guide  Typically, our Adult Guides volunteer for a three-year rotation.  Guides are assigned an incoming 6th grade group  remaining with them through 8th grade Affirmation of Baptism.  Guides participate during  Lesson Events in the sanctuary, lead small group discussions, and coordinate their group into large group events.  Training  through the FINK University [local training] is available along with program materials and a small budget.  Guides are requested to attend Guide “Huddles” with other Guides and program leaders for planning meetings. Need 2 for 3 year commitment.

 

Guest Guide [Substitute]  Time to time our Small Group Guides have unexpected events that interrupt their participation and a substitute is required.  See Small Group Guide for overview.

 

Christmas Tree Sales  This coordinator works with the Young Adult [YA] leaders to set the schedule for November/December Christmas Tree Sales.  H2H youth participate for a 10 day period-each youth [with a parent] works one 2.5 – 3 hour shift.

 

Easter Breakfast  Two parent volunteers coordinate with YA.  They manage the H2H youth signup schedule for serving, ticket sales, donations, food/supply procurement and clean up.  This is a Thrivent sponsored event so receipts and documentation must be maintained to process the necessary documents for matching funds.

 

Car Wash  This is our Autumn Fundraiser/Service Event.  The Parent Coordinator[s] sets the schedule, media communication, materials and morning setup [hoses, splitters, towels, buckets, soap, cleanup and financial recap.  

 

Chaperons  Adult chaperons are needed throughout the year for overnight retreats, Service and Fun events.  They may provide transportation, supervision, and interaction with events and youth.

 

Fellowship/Fun Nite Planning Group  This team determines what Fun Nite events will be held throughout the program calendar.  Past events have been Movie Nite; Laser Tag; Corn Maze/Hayride; Picnics.  Duties include communication flyers, registration, money collection, food/supply procurement and event recap [with receipts for reimbursement].

  

Affirmation of Baptism Planning Group  Two adult volunteers are needed to coordinate the May celebration event for 8th grade Affirmation.  Duties include ordering flowers, refreshments, paper products, pictures, setup/cleanup and receipt submission for reimbursement.  They handle room preparation [Essay Wall, Serving table], confirmand gifts and picture schedule. 

 

Acolyte Scheduler This volunteer sets the youth participation schedule September through May and interacts with the Church Secretary for monthly calendar & bulletin insertion.  Duties include setting calendar, providing backup contact list, and providing reminder postcards for office mailing.   Currently Filled
